Babin'

So a few weeks ago I jumped on the Inception train. And yes, you really should believe the hype.

But the best thing about the movie?

Man oh man, Joseph Gorden. You are a BABE.

Just speaking some French. Swoon.

Seriously Summer, what is wrong with you?

If I didn't have to save...

There are about 5 other things that should be given priority at the moment, yet I'm incredibly preoccupied by things. Mainly, things I want.

Long ago leather shorts set up camp on my wish list and they don't seem to be going anywhere. Problem is, I can't find the right ones. Vintage maybe, kind of slouchy, yet not so 80's, not too long yet not super short, with something interesting that makes them stand out from the rest. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK????

Hey, look who it is. It's Chloe Sevigny, looking pretty bad-ass in Opening Ceremony leather shorts. They'll do, for the time being.

I'm not getting married. At all. But I can't stop thinking about the vintage wedding dresses from LA Vintage.

I'm pretty sure I could come up with a reason to justify a purchase. 'Uh...just in case I...you know...join a cult. The kind that dance in fields of flowers and relive days when love was free and all you needed was a guitar and a fistful of dreams. Yeah, that cult. They're recruiting, I hear'.

Lastly, a leopard print coat please. I found two that were very near perfect, but this was at a time when poverty was my best friend. As they are now probably gone, the search continues. It may be a side effect of my Kate Moss obsession, but I don't think my wardrobe will be happy until it has one.

So for the moment, that's all I want. It's really not too much to ask.

This is why I love Canberra.

What are you doing Saturday? Around 12-3? And no, I'm not asking you on a date. Don't get your hopes up.
I just think you would look pretty damn fine is some AMAZING vintage threads. I also have a feeling you enjoy gardens and a nice tune or two.

If I'm correct, then you should probably be here...

I know I will be. Let's get our garden party on.

But what about Ron?

Apparently Harry Potter babe Emma Watson has confirmed she's dating model and musician George Craig, after they were spotted being all good looking together at Glastonbury.

To celebrate, let's revisit Burberry...

Oh Hermionie. You're SO cool.

I'm sorry, can I have that dress?

Dear Christopher Kane,

I've never really been a big fan of you. Your clothes don't exactly thrill me and the models you use always look so alarmingly angry.
But after taking a second look through your Spring 2010 collection, I need to admit something.

I was wrong. Really wrong. Because I kind of love you.

This is why...

If you send those dresses my way I promise that I'll never say a bad word about you. And then I'll have a party, with tea and gin and lace. Because where else would you wear these beautiful creations?

Yours, in apology and admiration

This has been done before...

So obviously I'm not that original. And you may have seen this type of post before. Since my wonderful blogging friend Miss A gifted me with a beautiful Polyvore set for my birthday, I thought I'd return the favour.

Lovely, you are a charming and exquisite lady and hopefully your special day is just that. You deserve all these amazing things, plus much, much more.

A song to get your party times started...

And one day we might even be Cristal poppin' in our
stretch navigator , just like Mr Kelly.

Love Always, M xxx

Let's dress up and dance a little.

How are you spending the long weekend? Lovingly preparing zines for the Canberra Zine Fair? Trying with all your might to fit into your new tighter than tight skinny jeans? Making your way yet again through Skins?
Then you should probably make room on Sunday night to celebrate the birthday of some old bird in style. Party By Jake are throwing their fifth Heartbeat bash 'A Royal Affair' and it promises to be a good looking, good sounding type of night, with Mingle DJs hitting the decks, supported by a stellar line-up of pretty rad spin doctors and local label Aviary Screenprinting showcasing their amazing threads. Plus, you might even score something FREE!

So pull out your dancing clothes, dancing shoes and dancing face because Sunday promises to be one hipster-kid-disco-party that you really shouldn't miss

If only someone could convince this guy to come along...

Self-indulgent much?

I'm sure, by now, many observant readers have picked up on something M and myself are only just forcing ourselves to acknowledge... we are big fat polywhores. I know, I know, but it's not all 16 year old girls posting collages of R.Patz and virginal white dresses, honestly. It's like going shopping minus the credit card limit, shop-assistant-induced anxiety and body issues - add a line of cocaine as your background image and you're living the life of M's idol, Miss Kate Moss.

Anyway, for those of you who require these sorts of things to have a point, here it is: M recently celebrated the anniversary of her dramatic arrival upon this planet, and in honour of this, I have condensed her into polyvore form.

Miss Moss: A love letter

Love comes and goes. Obsessions fade and sooner or later you move on to The Next Big Thing. However, my love for Kate Moss is pretty unconditional. I'm not fussed by a cocaine scandal, her love of fur or the fact that she's supposedly not a great mother. She's not here to be a spokesperson for drug use, an animal rights advocate or a shining example of motherhood. Kate is is the public eye because she's a model. And damn, does she do that well. The faults I often complain about in other celebrities are forgiven when it comes to Miss Moss. Because she's just so great at what she does. In terms of models, it's often a short-lived life in the spotlight. There's always someone edgier, more unique and exciting who takes center stage. But along with the likes of Naomi Campbell, Elle McPherson and Linda Evangelista, Kate has proven that just because you've been doing it for awhile, doesn't mean you're obsolete.

A fresh faced Kate on her first cover, at 15

But more so then her staying power, I love Kate for her talent, on the runway, in front of a camera and in her day-to-day dress. She's the epitome of stylish, getting it oh-so-right every time, even when she gets it 'wrong'. Miss Moss is a fashion chameleon, able to change her look to reflect trends, seasons and settings. While weathering drug scandals, man troubles (Pete Doherty, anyone?) and raising a young child she still manages to look effortlessly hip, creating her own trends in achingly cool, lust-worthy threads.

Ever since this picture my lust for leather pants has been insatiable. And perhaps, for the thighs to fit into them.

Skinny jeans and gumboots aren't exactly revolutionary at festivals. But when you're Kate Moss, you wear them better.

Absolutely rocking THAT Balmain dress

Bitchin'. Even if it is for Just Cavalli.

Being lovely.

And wow. You're amazing.

And not that I need another reason to love her but dating Jamie Hince and having a jealousy fuelled relationship with his bandmate (and my ultimate girlcrush) Alison Mosshart, makes Kate even cooler.

Yours, in awe

Just like the proper bloggers do.

Yes, yes, we've been frightfully naughty blogger-orphans and have been away for a long long time... But blogging is hard! Plus, all the completely awesome and famous bloggers have one of these "Sorry for not writing, I'm even too busy to tell you about the glamorous places this blog has taken me to, so I'll just let you infer it from my lack-of-post" posts.

So infer away, dear readers!

I'll Have What She's Having...

Today I had one of those moments when you realize how badly you need to do something about your hair. My colour has faded and my fringe is still recovering from a really bad hack with a pair of blunt scissors so I definitely need a new 'do. Being too much of a poor student to afford a trip to the hairdressers I've taken to spending a large amount of time lusting over hair I wish I could have...

Maybe/definitely it's shallow but if I had hair like Kate I think I'd be a better person.

Yes, I'd probably get sick of this in a day. And yes, I'd probably manage to look like a circus performer. But damn Agy, you make me want to go orange.

Lover, Lover

I love Lover. And their new A/W '10 collection The Harvest, which hit stores in March is the perfect example of why. The collection uses a colour palette that mixes feminine pastels with blacks and browns to create looks that are dreamy and delicious. In life according to The Harvest, winter is about lounging around in trousers, slouchy jumpers/cardigans/scarfs and prairie girl prints by day and donning a party frock with black tights by night. With pastel pink androgyny and tight, temptress velvet dresses, the colours and lush fabrics combine to give a soft, slightly bohemian, romantic vibe that is oh so easy on the eye.

Pictures from the wonderful StuddedHearts

Lover have also put together a hauntingly beautiful film lookbook to go along with the collection, produced by the Aeon and directed by Alice Wesley-Smith and Kasia Werstak.

Lover, you have my heart.
